Eduhonesty: Pushing academics sooner and harder only makes the pot boil more furiously. The kids who are not ready to read at five are less ready at four — and we are giving them one more formative year to help them feel like failures. We are TEACHING the concept of failure to them, while we fail to teach academics for which many students remain unready.

It’s hard to even write this blog now. Parents are feeling heavily pressured to begin academic instruction at earlier and earlier ages. Meanwhile, educational “leaders” seem to have so many screws loose they could stock a hardware store.
